Red Rovers

Red Rovers (2011) continues our research into how audience members can be integrated into live performance experiences. Audience members put on JPL Rover Driver conference name tags, get divided up into affinity groups, and participate in break-out sessions. Meanwhile, our conference hosts, Jeff Merbold from the Spirit team and Clementine Nardello from the Opportunity team, reveal the stories of their relationships to each other, the rovers they love, and space itself. Created in collaboration with visual artist Chris Doyle, Red Rovers used the true story of the Mars rovers as its dramaturgical starting point. A 2011 Philadelphia Live Arts Festival Premiere. 60 minutes.
